A family with high standards of quality and aesthetics. Α&Μ was asked to support the design of a 4-storey detached house in Exoni, Glyfada, a privileged site with a unique view of the Argo-Saronic Gulf.
What
Our task was to deliver a detailed design of a house to meet the needs of a family of four. A&M coordinated the initial design by the AKKM office, headed by Damianos Ampakoumkin with the active participation of the PG Kamarinos office of Electrical Engineers, to manage the construction of the interior as well as the surrounding spaces. Our tasks and objectives for this new building have been the following: new configurations and reorganisation of the building’s interior, as well as construction details and the selection of materials and colours. Furthermore, lighting designs for the various spaces and levels and finally, decisions pertaining to the choice of furniture.
Where
The plot is located in Exoni, Glyfada, close to the borders with Voula, with an uninhibited view of the ocean and the Argo-Saronic Gulf. The house was divided into 4 horizontal levels. It is worth mentioning that development into successive levels took place on a plot with significant inclination. Apart from private residential spaces for the owners, the property includes fitness rooms, a home cinema, offices, guest and entertainment rooms, as well as everyday reception areas. Finally, the pool and its surrounding area, intended for the family’s relaxation, have been constructed on the roof.
When
Detailed design started in 2008, during the final stages of the building’s bearing structure construction. The project was completed towards the end of 2009, when the family moved into their new home.
